What is the orange highlighted word?

What is the orange highlighted word?

The orange highlighted word is the cue word.

In Run Lines, Linus listens for the cue word to help understand when you’ve said your line and when it should move forward.

What does the cue word do?

The cue word helps Linus track where you are in the scene.

When Linus hears that word, it knows you are near the end of your line and can prepare to move to the next line.

Can I change the orange word?

Yes.

  1. Open your scene.
  2. Tap Run Lines from the Scene Menu.
  3. Find the line you want to adjust.
  4. Tap a different word in your line.
  5. Check that the new word turns orange.

Linus will now listen for that word instead.

When should I change it?

Change the cue word if:

  • Linus is not moving forward
  • Linus keeps getting stuck on the same line
  • the orange word is hard to say clearly
  • the orange word is too short
  • the orange word is too quiet
  • the orange word is right at the very end of a long line

How do I choose a better cue word?

A good cue word is usually:

  • clear
  • easy to say
  • not too short
  • not rushed
  • not swallowed
  • close to the end of the line, but not always the final word
