What do I do if the reader responds too quickly?

Which fix should I use?

Use Response Time

Use Response Time if the reader is generally coming in too quickly across the whole scene.

This adds a small delay before Linus responds.

Use Add Beat

Use Add Beat if one specific moment needs more space before the next line.

This is best when you want a clear pause between two lines.

Use Line Read

Use Line Read if you want the reader’s line to include a more natural pause, rhythm, or performance.

This is best when the pause needs to feel built into the delivery of the line.

Option 1: Adjust Response Time

  1. Go back to the folder screen.
  2. Tap the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Tap Playback Settings.
  4. Find Response Time.
  5. Move the slider to add a delay.
  6. Return to your scene and test the timing.
