Welcome to Linus! These terms govern your use of our acting practice and rehearsal app. By using Linus, you agree to these terms.

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Linus mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms apply to all users of the App, whether you are using the free version or have purchased a subscription.

2. Description of Service

Linus is a mobile application designed to help actors practice lines, rehearse scenes, and improve their craft. Our service includes:

• Script Practice: Upload and practice with your scripts and scenes
• AI Voice Generation: Practice with AI-generated character voices
• Self-Taping: Record yourself practicing scenes
• Table Reads: Experience full cast readings with AI voices
• Rehearsal Tools: Various features to enhance your practice sessions

3. Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

To use Linus, you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or anonymous authentication. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete information during registration
• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• Promptly updating your account information if it changes
• All activities that occur under your account

Account Eligibility

Linus is designed to be safe and appropriate for users of all ages. All users are welcome to create an account and use our service.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Premium Subscription

Linus is a premium service. Your subscription includes:

• Unlimited AI voice generations
• Advanced rehearsal features
• Extended recording capabilities
• Premium voice options
• Priority customer support

Payment Terms

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to:

• Pay all fees associated with your subscription
• Automatic renewal unless cancelled before the renewal date
• The payment terms of the respective app store

Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled according to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

5. User Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all scripts, recordings, and other content you create or upload to Linus ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process your content to provide the App's features
• Store your content on your device and our servers as necessary
• Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve the service

Prohibited Content

You may not upload or create content that:

• Violates any laws or regulations
• Infringes on others' intellectual property rights
• Contains harmful, threatening, or abusive material
• Contains adult content or is inappropriate for general audiences
• Violates any person's privacy or publicity rights

Our Intellectual Property

Linus and all its features, design, functionality, and AI-generated content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary technology
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code
• Use our trademarks or branding without permission
• Create derivative works based on our App

6. Acceptable Use

Permitted Uses

You may use Linus for:

• Personal acting practice and skill development
• Educational purposes in acting and theater
• Professional audition and performance preparation
• Creative exploration and artistic development

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Use automated tools or bots to access the App
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Upload malicious code or viruses

7. AI Services and Limitations

AI-Generated Content

Linus uses artificial intelligence to generate voices and provide interactive features. Please understand that:

• AI-generated content may not always be perfect or accurate
• Voice generations are for practice purposes only
• AI responses should not be considered professional advice
• We continuously work to improve AI accuracy and quality

Third-Party AI Services

We use third-party AI services including OpenAI, Groq, ElevenLabs, Google AI, and Deepgram. Your use of these features is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Audio processed through these services (speech recognition, voice transformation) is handled in real-time and not stored.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Key privacy points:

• Original script files (PDFs) are processed in transit only and are not stored on our servers
• When using Linus Cloud, parsed script data is stored securely to enable sync features
• Self-tapes uploaded to Linus Cloud are stored in secure AWS servers (Sydney, Australia) and deleted within 24 hours when you remove them
• Speech recognition audio is processed in real-time and not stored
• Analytics data collection is opt-out (you can disable it)
• We use industry-standard security measures
• You have control over your data and privacy settings

9. Service Availability and Modifications

Service Availability

We strive to make Linus available 24/7, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance and updates
• Technical issues or server problems
• Third-party service outages
• Force majeure events

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that affect your use of the App.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Service Disclaimers

Linus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, including:

• Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Security against unauthorized access

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use.

Our total liability for any claims related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Linus, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you upload or create using the App

12. Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the App or contacting us to close your account.

Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you:

• Violate these Terms or our policies
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Abuse or misuse the service
• Fail to pay subscription fees

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. We may delete your account and data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Linus will be resolved through the appropriate Australian courts and dispute resolution processes.
