What is Line Read?
Written steps
- Open your scene.
- Tap Run Lines from the Scene Menu.
- Find the line you want to change.
- Tap the three dots on the right-hand side of the line.
- Tap Line Read.
- Tap to record.
- Say the line the way you want it performed.
- Press Stop when you’re finished.
- Wait while Linus generates the new line read.
- Tap Play to preview it.
- Trim the start or end of the waveform if needed.
- Re-record the line if you want to try again.
- Tap away once you’re happy.
What does Line Read do?
Line Read lets you record how you want a line to be performed.
Linus then uses your performance as a guide while keeping the selected character’s voice.
This is useful when a line sounds unnatural, has the wrong rhythm, or needs a more specific performance.
How do I know Line Read is saved?
When a Line Read has been saved, you’ll see Line Read on that line.
You can press Play to test it and make sure you’re happy with how it sounds.
When should I use Line Read?
Use Line Read when:
- a reader line sounds unnatural
- you want a specific rhythm or pause
- the line needs a different emotional tone
- you want to guide the accent, energy, or delivery
- you want the reader to follow your performance more closely
