What is Self Tape?

What is Self Tape for?

Self Tape is where you record your scene in Linus.

Use Self Tape when you want to:

  • record an audition
  • practise a self-tape
  • film a take without needing a reader
  • review your performance after recording

What should I do before recording?

Before recording in Self Tape, it’s best to check your scene in Run Lines first.

Use Run Lines to check:

  • the script looks correct
  • your character is selected correctly
  • the other character voices sound right
  • the timing feels natural
  • the reader performances are working for the scene

Once the scene feels ready, go back to the Scene Menu and open Self Tape.
