How do I record a self-tape in Linus?
Written steps
- Open the scene you want to record.
- Tap Run Lines from the Scene Menu.
- Check the script and make sure the lines look correct.
- Check the character voices and make sure the other characters sound right.
- Check the timing and make sure the scene moves at the pace you want.
- Go back to the Scene Menu when you are happy with the scene.
- Tap Self Tape.
- Check your framing and make sure you are happy with how you look on camera.
- Check the teleprompter and make sure your lines are easy to read.
- Tap the settings wheel in the top right-hand corner of the teleprompter box if you need to adjust it.
- Adjust the teleprompter if needed.
- Tap the red Record button when you are ready.
- Perform your scene while Linus reads the other characters’ lines.
What should I check before recording?
Before you record, use Run Lines to check:
- the script looks correct
- your character is selected correctly
- the other character voices sound right
- the timing feels natural
- the reader performances are working for the scene
What can I adjust in the teleprompter?
From the teleprompter settings, you can adjust:
- font size
- font
- opacity of the teleprompter box
- whether action lines are shown
