How do I adjust my framing before recording?

Written steps

  1. Open your scene.
  2. Tap Self Tape from the Scene Menu.
  3. Check how you look on camera before recording.
  4. Tap the zoom icon at the bottom of the screen. It may show 1.0x by default.
  5. Use the zoom slider to adjust your framing.
  6. Slide up to 3x if you want to zoom in closer.
  7. Stop when your framing feels right.
  8. Tap the zoom icon again to close the zoom control.
  9. Check your framing again before you press record.

How do I know if I’m using a custom zoom?

The zoom icon will be highlighted orange when you are no longer using the default zoom setting.

For example, if you change from 1.0x to a closer zoom, the icon will stay orange to show that a custom zoom setting is active.

When should I adjust framing?

Adjust your framing if:

  • you look too far away
  • you look too close
  • your headroom feels wrong
  • the background is distracting
  • you want the self-tape to feel cleaner before recording
