How do I choose the character I’m playing?

Written steps

1. Upload your script and wait while Linus processes the scene.
2. Go to Select Your Character when Linus shows the characters it found in your script.
3. Choose the character you’re playing. This tells Linus which lines are yours.
4. Continue to Brief Your Reader after selecting your character.
5. Choose voices for the other characters so Linus knows who should read opposite you.
6. Tap Start Rehearsing to open your scene.

Why does this matter?

The character you choose becomes your character in the scene.

Linus uses this to know:

• which lines are yours
• which lines should be read by the other characters
• which character to mark as You
• how the scene should work in Run Lines, Self Tape, and Table Read

Can I change the character I’m playing later?

Yes.

1. Open the scene you want to change.
2. Go to the Scene Menu.
3. Scroll down to Characters.
4. Find the character you want to play.
5. Tap the three dots beside that character.
6. Tap Read as… the character name.

The selected character will now be marked as You.
