What should I do if my script upload fails?

Written steps

  1. Go back to Upload and start the upload again.
  2. Select your PDF script from your files.
  3. Choose the pages you want to include.
  4. Open Advanced Options before uploading.
  5. Turn on Convert PDF Pages to Images. This can help Linus read scanned, watermarked, or unusually formatted scripts.
  6. Tap Upload Selected.
  7. Wait while Linus analyses the script.
  8. Select the character you’re playing.
  9. Choose voices for the other characters.
  10. Continue into your scene.

If Linus is splitting one scene into multiple scenes

If your script is one scene, but Linus is splitting it into multiple scenes, try this:

  1. Go back to Upload.
  2. Select your PDF script.
  3. Choose the pages you want to include.
  4. Open Advanced Options.
  5. Turn on Combine Multiple Scenes as One.
  6. Tap Upload Selected.

Why does this happen?

Some scripts are harder for Linus to read than others.

This can happen with scripts that have:

  • unusual formatting
  • watermarks
  • scanned pages
  • photographed pages
  • complicated scene breaks
  • text that is difficult to read from the PDF structure

Using Convert PDF Pages to Images helps Linus read the script as page images instead of relying only on the PDF’s text structure.
