File requirements

Your script must be:

  • a PDF file
  • unlocked
  • not password-protected
  • under 20MB

What if my PDF is larger than 20MB?

If your PDF is larger than 20MB, compress it using a PDF compression tool, then upload the smaller version to Linus.

What if my script has a watermark?

Watermarks are usually fine.

If the upload doesn’t work properly, or if lines are missing, try uploading again using:

Advanced Options → Convert PDF Pages to Images

This can help Linus read watermarked or unusually formatted scripts more accurately.

What if my script is locked?

Linus can’t upload locked or password-protected PDFs.

If you’re on a Mac, you can try creating an unlocked copy:

  1. Open the PDF in Preview.
  2. Go to File.
  3. Select Print.
  4. Choose Save as PDF.
  5. Upload the new PDF to Linus.

Can I upload scanned scripts?

Yes. Scanned scripts can work as long as they are saved as a PDF.

This includes scripts that are:

  • scanned
  • photographed
  • photocopied
  • typed out in a document and exported as a PDF
