Can I use Table Read to learn lines?
How Table Read can help you learn lines
Yes. Table Read is useful if you learn well by hearing the script aloud.
You can use it to:
- listen to the scene repeatedly
- hear the rhythm of the dialogue
- focus on a specific section
- play the script while doing something else
- use playback patterns to practise active recall
- mute your own lines and test yourself
Option 1: Listen on repeat
Use Table Read to listen to the scene again and again.
This can help the language, rhythm, and cue lines become more familiar.
Option 2: Listen to a specific section
You can set a start and end point if you only want to listen to one section.
If you want that section to repeat, turn on Loop.
Option 3: Use playback patterns
Playback patterns let you hear your lines in different ways.
For example, you can hear the reader’s line, leave a gap for your line, then let Linus continue. This gives you a chance to say your line before hearing what comes next.
Option 4: Mute your own lines
You can also mute your own lines in Table Read.
- Open Table Read.
- Swipe up from the bottom to open the control panel.
- Go to Advanced Settings.
- Tap Mute My Lines.
This lets you listen to the rest of the scene while leaving your own lines out.
Important note
Mute My Lines is only available in Table Read.
If you are using a playback pattern that already includes gaps for your lines, your lines may already be left out at that point, so you may not need Mute My Lines as well.
