Can I listen to my whole script in Table Read?

Can I listen to the whole script?

Not always.

Table Read is designed to help you listen to and rehearse the parts of the script that involve your character.

If your character does not appear within the next 20 lines, that section may only be available as a read-only preview.

Why can’t I always listen to the whole script?

Linus is built as a rehearsal and self-tape tool, not a full-script audiobook player.

That means Table Read focuses on the parts of the script that are most relevant to your character and your rehearsal.

If your character is not featured within the next 20 lines, Linus may show that part of the script as a read-only preview instead of reading it aloud.

What can I listen to in Table Read?

You can listen to the sections of the script that involve your character.

This is designed to help you:

  • hear the rhythm of the scene
  • listen to your cue lines
  • learn your own lines by hearing the scene aloud
  • practise sections you are actively rehearsing
  • use playback patterns and gaps to test yourself

Why does Linus work this way?

Linus uses licensed voices from real actors. These voices are designed to support rehearsal, line learning, and self-taping, rather than full-script playback.

Because of that, Table Read is focused on helping actors rehearse the scenes and sections they are involved in.

Can I request full-script listening?

Yes.

If being able to listen to a full script read-through would be useful for you, contact us through Live Chat in Linus or email [email protected].

We’d love to hear how you would use it and what would make it helpful for your process.
